Raising the Nets ORIGINAL SOLD
Watercolor on AquaBord 12 x 36 Sealed. The inspiration for this painting came from seeing the fishing nets drying on the promenade at the Docks at Saint Jean de Luz in France. I adapted the technique of applying webbing and then spraying with concentrated pigments. After that using several layers I develop the details of the painting.
The original idea for this painting series came from seeing the fishing nets and floats drying on the docks at Saint Jean de Luz in France. We visited there twice now -- a marvelous place for a vacation. I decided to paint this scene in a more abstract way in watercolor on AquaBord and then seal it so it could be framed without glass. The original sold while in a show at the Guistina Gallery on the campus of OSU in Corvallis. I love this painting and wanted to have a print on hand 10.4 x 32 It will be numbered #1 and signed by me on the certificate of authenticity
