Cave Drawing Memories Buy @ Fairweather Gallery in Seaside
This painting is 15 x 11 double matted and framed 21 h x 17 w UV Museum Glass. Watercolor over mixed media using texturing techniques with wax paper. I played up the elements found in the painting when it dried and added a few line elements to lead you to the focal point.
Visiting one of the oldest caves while we were in the Dordogne several years ago had a lasting impression of that experience. This represents a door to the darkened entrance with so much mystery, dampness and darkness to save the cave for future generations. We were the last visitors of that season. This cave is famous for only having animals painted on the walls which were now 30 feet above us.
