Amgen Tour of California race over the years has provided many scenic photos for me to paint. There is something about shadows that intrigues me. I photograph way too many to ever paint them all. It is the diagonal design and simplicity of this photo that created the enthusiasm and passion to paint it. I can feel the crosswinds affecting the paceline of this breakaway group.
