Watercolor on paper 14 x 11 Part of the 4 week Still Life Course with Carol Carter dealing with how sentimental items which we paint can shine through the painting to the viewer more successfully. I had the experience of painting the skin in different colors at a workshop in France with Carol by virtue of a happy accident. It was fun to come full circle and venture out into the wonderful world of color with the subject of rings gifted over the years, symbolizing love and commitment. The pearl and diamond ring was a graduation gift and the wedding ring was worn for 50 years before it was replaced with a new ring which you can't see from the backside.
