This is one of the roses in my garden and the prolific blooms and sweet scent make it worthy of being painted. It doesn’t take much enthusiasm to paint roses. I hope you enjoy them.


In choosing the substrate for a painting I often choose a cradle so it doesn’t have to be matted and framed. Flowers can stand alone, especially when the petal colors stand out from the greenery.


I love how the yellow petals change in value as it blooms and makes for a very beautiful show in the garden.
