This group of galleries is created so you can see one of the techniques I have used for several years now to provide my clients and myself another way to display watercolor original paintings without the extra cost of matting and framing with glass or acrylic. Sealing with an acrylic clear coating of 3 to 7 layers, still allows the transparent qualities of watercolor to shine through. It is a more labor intensive process for me but it is a nice alternative. When I do frame a sealed watercolor it is usually in a "floater frame. "
Several different surfaces are created specifically for watercolor (AquaBord, ClayBord and Watercolor Canvas). Watercolor paintings can be mounted on any of these surfaces and then sealed or many below are painted on these surfaces and sealed.
Paintings using a combination of watercolor and acrylics are in the gallery entitled Mixed Media Paintings below and most are framed behind glass.
