Fairweather Home and Gallery Guest Artist Art

Seaside hosts a gallery walk the first Saturday of the month. I was honored to be selected to have my art included as one of the featured artists for the months of October, November and December at the Fairweather Gallery.  October's theme, "Light and Shadows," was beautifully displayed. November's theme is "Wild Beauty." I've added the three paintings below for this theme.  The Artist Reception will be held on Saturday, November 7th from 5-7 pm. I hope to see you there.

Three of my paintings seen below have been juried into the Marine Food Webs: Drifters to Swimmers Exhibition at the LaSells Stewart Center Giustina Gallery on the OSU campus in Corvallis, Oregon from Feb 3 - March 12. This is a parallel show to a special collection by invited artists who participated in a National Science Foundation funded Artist-at-Sea Residency Program that worked with scientists from OSU Hatfield's Plankton Lab and UO's Sutherland Lab aboard four oceanographic research cruises.  Hope you will plan a visit to the Giustina Gallery to see these two shows.  Fish art by Keven Clark, "Fish Run."

My painting, Peacock Foraging, is hanging in the art display in the hall at Providence St. Vincent Hospital in the rotating art exhibit "Art for the Care"  outside the Ruth J. Spear Breast Center until the end of the January.  This program is a chance to donate part of the sale price to the Center.  If you have an appointment or are visiting someone in the Hospital I hope you will venture down the hall to the East End and look at the paintings which represent different media.  It is very nice to be asked to submit my art.

Today (May 2nd) the wind stopped blowing so I could paint outdoors.  For details on what and how I painted this body of work see my blog on this site.  I hope you will comment as well.  I'm a lucky lady to be able to create something that is a part of me that others can see and share.

PictureDiana Nadal Collage--30 Paintings in 30 Days
30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge with Leslie Saeta, January, 2014.

Making a collage of the art created during the Challenge says a little something about who I am as a person as well as an artist.  My love of color certainly comes through.  Choosing to paint specific and varied topics made it a little more difficult but satisfying. This was a creative journey and the daily adventure led to some paintings which you love, some you don't and maybe a few that you can consider finished and put on the website..  I'll have to settle back down to my daily routine of painting without the challenge of producing a painting by the end of the day.   Thanks to Leslie Saeta for hosting this challenge and to each person who "liked" and posted comments.

The journey continues.  My excitement and passion to produce new works is stronger than ever. I have finished several of the paintings started during the Challenge and you can find them for sale in the "My Paintings" tab.

If you want more details about my feelings and the process of each painting you can see them on my blog http://www.dianagnadal.blogspot.com or contact me with your questions via email mailto:dianagnadal@gmail.com
