This painting was done on Day 12 of the 30 Day Challenge in January. I had wanted to paint this gentlemen whom I had photographed in France. A street vendor had persuaded him to buy the red hat. His family left to shop and while waiting for the bill, a change came over his face and he sat up straighter. Did the hat make him a new man? .
