This painting was done on Day 12 of a 30 Day Challenge. I had wanted to paint this gentlemen whom I had photographed in France. A street vendor had persuaded him to buy the red hat. His family left to shop and while waiting for the bill, a change came over his face and he sat up straighter. Did the hat make him a new man?
