This painting was based on photos I took in late December when my husband and I were strolling along the Riverside walkways and marina. The night was chilly but the water was perfectly still. The reflections of the Steel Bridge and Portland's Eastside city lights were breathtaking. It took many background washes to get the variety of blacks in the sky and water to portray the ambiance of that night. I added touched of Daniel Smith iridescent colors to highlight the lights.
