When I saw this image from one of our extended family living in Portugal it brought back memories of when our boys were little and had their first haircut. This barber shop was so interesting that I had to paint it (with their permission).
I had to use several techniques including a template for the bricks to capture the complexity of the space. It was more difficult than expected to keep the barber and his young man the focal point. The lighting was tricky because of the glass throughout. It took a lot of energy but think it will remind others of when this important event took place in their family's lives.
