After being juried into the Marine Elements Show earlier this year at the Giustina Gallery, I have been fascinated with all the sea life.
I was watching a video on a fisherman in Coos Bay hauling in his catch of the day and was surprised when there were several "purple" crabs which they considered a special catch. After researching the species I had to paint one. Some of them can also be more reddish.
