Photo Finish for Yellow Jersey
Watercolor Sealed with Archival Acrylic on Watermedia Cradle 12 x 12 x 1 5/8
I was able to capture about half a dozen images during the 2020 Tour de France I considered contenders for painting. This is the 2nd of those painting. This still of the finish line showed the 2nd through 4th place winners in stage 4. Normally this doesn't matter but on this day the Yellow Jersey wearer for the following day was determined by the order of finish. This painting has many layers and so when it is finally sprayed with the achival acrylic spray the colors will be brighter.
Stage 4: Tuesday, September 1, Sisteron to Orcières-Merlette, 157km
An early summit finish in Orcières-Merlette, a ski resort at the end of a 7.1km climb (6.7%). Orcières-Merlette will enjoy its day in the sun – it's been more than 30 years since the Tour visited these slopes. Roglic claims first summit finale on stage 4 and Alaphilippe stays in the yellow jersey.
