Zebra Boots on Safari
Watercolor on 12 x 12 x 1.675 cradle sealed with archival acrylic. In addition to the focal point I painted the landscape where the Zebras can be found in Africa. I looked through hundreds of Zebra boots to find the pattern that related to the paintings I have done before of Zebras from our son's trip to Africa. I collaged one of the zebras I had painted before to set the stage. I was painting winter themed boots for my upcoming show in Seaside of "pumps" and changed at the last minute since my last Zebra painting had gone out the door to a new home. This was a fun painting and tried some new watercolors from Lucas to get the brightest white in the zebra boots. It was my biggest challenge.
